Our Process
Slab Selection & Material Procurement (Optional)
As an optional service, we can manage the material procurement process from initial slab selection through jobsite delivery:
Slab Selection: Because every slab is unique, we recommend visiting the yard with your designer or GC to select and mark the specific slabs for your project. We can advise on material options, recommend vendors, and accompany you when helpful.
Preliminary Slab Counts: We create a preliminary layout to estimate the number of slabs required. At this stage, counts are typically a range, as final quantities depend on exact slab sizes, veining, layout, and design preferences.
Material Pricing: We source materials through our network of trusted trade vendors and provide competitive contractor pricing.
Delivery & Storage: We coordinate delivery to our shop, where slabs are inspected and securely stored until they are ready for fabrication and installation.
By managing procurement from start to finish, we help minimize delays caused by late, damaged, or incorrect material deliveries. We've spent decades building relationships with the Peninsula's leading slab vendors, and we put those relationships to work for every project we take on.
Once the cabinetry is installed, sub-tops are on, and sinks are set, we visit the jobsite to create a precise digital template of every surface to be fabricated.
Our templates capture exact dimensions, wall conditions, corners and angles, sink and cooktop cutouts, faucet and fixture locations, outlets, seams, overhangs, and other project-specific details. We also verify critical site conditions before fabrication to ensure the finished stone will fit as intended.
This attention to detail helps minimize errors, avoid costly surprises, and ensure the finished stone fits the space precisely.
Templating
Before fabrication and installation, we conduct a detailed layout review with you and your designer or GC to confirm slab placement, seam locations, veining and bookmatching, edge details, cutouts, and other key design elements.
The review can be conducted remotely when necessary, but we strongly recommend coming to our shop to review the layout in person with a member of our team. Seeing the actual slab layout and discussing the details together allows us to identify potential issues, make adjustments, and ensure the final design is exactly what you envision.
Nothing moves into fabrication until the layout has been reviewed and approved.
Layout Review
Once the layout and template are approved, your slabs are fabricated in our Redwood City shop by our own team of skilled fabricators. We combine precision CNC equipment with hand-finishing to produce clean, accurate results tailored to your project.
This includes:
Precision Cutting — Cutting slabs to the approved template and layout
Cutouts — Sink, cooktop, faucet, outlet, and other project-specific cutouts
Edge Profiling — From simple polished edges to ogee, waterfall, mitered, and custom profiles
Surface Finishing — Precision polishing, honing, and other finishing as required by the material and design
Detail Work — Miters, seams, vein matching, and other custom fabrication details
Because fabrication happens in-house, we maintain control over quality from the first cut through final finishing.
Fabrication
Once fabrication is complete, your stone is delivered from our Redwood City shop and installed by our own experienced installation crews. Countertops are carefully set and leveled, seams are joined and polished, laminations are completed, and sinks are precisely undermounted.
We coordinate closely with your GC and plumber to confirm that the jobsite is ready and that all necessary plumbing, cabinetry, and other site conditions are addressed before installation.
Our goal is a precise, seamless installation that looks as though the stone was made specifically for the space, because it was.
